Chicago!

We spent a lovely week in Chicago.  The weather was perfect, the clouds were spectacular, the architecture was stunning and the food was fantastic!

Breakfast at Playa Canek

Breakfast at Playa Canek

We really enjoyed the food at the little outdoor restaurant of our hotel Playa Canek in Tulum.  Breakfast was my favorite time to eat here. We loved the smoothies, Bananarama was our favorite with bananas, coconut milk and chia seeds sprinkled on top. The chilaquiles and motuleños were fantastic. For lunch, the shrimp tacos were simple […]

You may have already noticed that I love clouds, sunrises, and sunsets.   And Tulum beach did not disappoint.  Our first evening this beautiful sunset put on a lovely show for us.

Tulum Time

Tulum Time

We traveled back to Tulum in May.  It was our 4th time visiting this part of the world and it was as beautiful as ever.  Water is still clear and blue, and the sands are still soft and white.  There are more tourists and more hotels, but things still feel pretty laid back in this […]

Next Stop Oktoberfest!

Next Stop Oktoberfest!

May 15, 2017 No Comments

Actually Oktoberfests, would be more accurate.  We are planning to return to Germany this fall, to explore more of the country, to do some very preliminary house/flat hunting (scoping out cities and parts of town we have heard good things about), and to partake in an array of Oktoberfesting. At this point we know we […]

We had a great time on Easter Eve bar hopping for a cause with Bunarchy and a bunch of our bunny friends.

Quiet Venetian Back Canals and Calli

Quiet Venetian Back Canals and Calli

Venice gets a bad rap for being overly full of tourists.  Certainly there are times of the day where the day trippers and cruise boat guests fill up the major tourist zones, like Saint Marc’s Square and the Rialto Bridge, but you can generally avoid the crowds if you stay away those parts of town […]

Breakfast in Italy!

Breakfast in Italy!

January 31, 2017 No Comments

On our recent trip to Italy, we had many exceptionally creamy cappuccinos and tender flaky cornetti among other tasty breakfast treats.  We also sometimes had focaccia with hardy toppings for breakfast.  Whatever we had it was delicious and incredibly fresh.

Zipping Around Venice

Zipping Around Venice

We took a private speed boat around Venice, which made for even better videoing and photographing.  Motoring under the Rialto Bridge and floating along side the gondoliers, as we tried to capture the colorful reflections on the rippling canals and the endless beauty Venice just keeps dishing out.

Rialto Market Moments

Rialto Market Moments

In Venice, our apartment was just down a narrow calle from the Rialto Market and every morning we were delighted by the beautiful sights and sounds of it opening up. It was heaven. Seagulls show up after the Rialto Fish Market closes to do the final clean up of anything that was missed by the […]
